Support the Kigali Amendment

Hydrofluorocarbons, which are commonly used in refrigeration, are "the fastest growing climate pollutants, and they pack hundreds to thousands of times the climate-warming punch of carbon dioxide" [1]. The Kigali Amendment of the Montreal Protocol would phase out the use of hydrofluorocarbons around the globe, which would prevent 0.5°C of temperature increase by 2100 [2]. Eliminating hydrofluorocarbons is the single most effective way to combat global warming [3] and ratification of the Kigali Amendment is projected to add 33,000 additional jobs by 2027 and $12.5 billion in annual economic output in the United States [4]. Vanguard must come out publicly and vocally in support of this crucial accord, which is the most effective way of combating climate change and will lead to additional economic benefits in the US.
